Hello,
I would like to teach my kids to question and analyze everything they are told or what they see. There is no other way to do that, than with science examples.
I fully agree with you. Kant expressed this most valuable idea with an immortal Latin saying
“Sapere audi” (“Dare to know” or “…to think for yourself”).
Michelle Obama said, “When they go low, we go high.”
Given that our true enemy is always evolved, destructive emotional programming (Freud’s death drive), and given the slowness of evolution relative to technological progress, we can update Obama as: “When they go old, we go new.” Happy Googling.
“In science it often happens that scientists say, ‘you know, that’s a really good argument: my position is mistaken,’ and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn’t happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion.” – Carl Sagan
… Which is why we need the CFI and other rational organizations around – to speak truth to power!
