A secular society, one which is not defined or directed by religion, is the key to creating a more peaceful and integrated society. Emphasizing one religion over others or trying to accommodate all religious perspectives when making public decisions, creates unnecessary conflict and forces the fastest growing group in Canada, people with no religious affiliation, out of the picture. Logic, reason and compassion take a back seat to dogmatic debates and emotional conflict. CFIC and our supporters believe that building a secular society will create a society that is more respectful and more understanding of the different beliefs of all Canadians
Secularism is one of CFI Canada’s core areas of focus, as described in our Strategic Plan.
