Scientific skepticism involves the application of skeptical philosophy, critical-thinking skills, and knowledge of science and its methods to empirical claims, while remaining agnostic or neutral to non-empirical claims (except those that directly impact the practice of science).
Scientific Skepticism is one of CFI Canada’s core areas of focus, as described in our Strategic Plan.

By year-end 2020:
• CFIC will expose a pseudoscientific practice (Thermography) through research and promotion of results
• CFIC will work towards achieving mutually beneficial partnerships to strengthen each partners’ mandate
• Research and promote the results of the financial implications of income tax claims for pseudo-scientific “medicine”
• A media campaign will demonstrate issues related to pseudoscientific practices.
• CFIC will have a searchable archive of its Scientific Skepticism publications
